What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Technician Sewer Assessment position at Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners?
Under supervision Collection Technician performs labor supporting the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of the Seminole County Wastewater Collection System; and perform a variety of related duties as assigned.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description. Qualified candidates can expect to start at $18.00/hr.
**Additional compensation based on licensure.

Assist other staff and/or work independently in the maintenance, repair and construction of wastewater collections systems.
Inspects lift stations or diagnoses problems and makes necessary repairs not requiring the skill of a Collections Mechanic.
Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and other duties under the direction of the assigned supervisor.
Assist Mechanics with assigned responsibility; Perform preventive, predictive maintenance on lift stations and ARVs following SOP procedures.
Mow grass, trim shrubbery and perform housekeeping functions around lift station sites and wet wells.
Wash down lift stations, perform operation of Vactor when vacuum cleaning of stations, remove rags and debris from floats and power cable.
May be required to operate various types of small maintenance equipment to perform assigned job tasks.
Completes required field paperwork. Documents work performed in required log books and/or work order management system.
Responsible for adherence to proper safety standards and procedures. Responsible for maintaining all safety equipment and related records
Performs other duties as assigned.

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

High School diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience in electrical, hydraulic or mechanical work related to wastewater collections systems.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License, Class "A" with Tanker endorsement, or obtain within six (6) months.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Must have the ability to operate small gas powered equipment such as a gas mower, tractor or other similar equipment.
Must have the ability to read blue prints and maps.
Must have normal color vision and hearing.
Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly; both orally and in writing.
All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.
Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
