What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Administrator (Security/Cybersecurity Administrator) position at Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners?
Monitor, implement, maintain, audit, and improve security/cybersecurity for enterprise technology systems. Performs vulnerability testing and risk assessment of existing and new technology systems to protect technology resources. Works with staff and customers to cultivate a culture of security awareness.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Implement, monitor, audit, and maintain, network security technology to ensure controls are in place to protect enterprise technology systems.
Conduct penetration testing and auditing to find vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
Establish security procedures and conduct audits and response drills to ensure staff readiness and improve response processes.
Review and perform risk assessments on existing or new systems and recommend security improvements.
Maintain a proactive role understanding and evaluating current and emerging technologies and matching them with County needs.
Continually improves job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security threats, standards, practices, and security products
Participate as part of an incident response team to assess and mitigate security events.
Review, test compliance, and recommend remediation for security practices, policies and procedures.
Recommend implementation of processes or technology to improve security posture.
Create, update, provide recommendations and document, procedures and processes for all aspects of security and cybersecurity design.
Act as a security liaison on special projects including assisting other agencies with the configuration, installation and interoperation of applications or equipment.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related work as required.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties and work varying schedules.
Bachelor’s Degree in an associated field and (3) years’ experience in enterprise Information Technology security and cybersecurity roles.
Preference will be give to those with CISSP certification.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Work requires a high degree of teamwork, coordination with customer departments, independent judgment, initiative, and a positive attitude.
Position requires experience in information technology infrastructure, systems, people, and processes.
Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, customers, citizens, executive leadership, and elected officials.
Must be able to learn new concepts quickly and resolve complex technical problems effectively.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize and prioritize tasks successfully.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license.
