What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solid Waste Operator ll position at Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners?
Skilled work performing Seminole County solid waste operations using tractor trailers, light equipment and heavy equipment.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.
**Additional compensation based on licensure.

The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.Performs skilled operation in a majority of solid waste equipment including, but not limited to: bulldozers, compactors, front end loaders, material handlers, excavators, skid steers, farm tractors, mowers, shuttles, and road tractors with multiple types of trailers.
Responsible for properly conducting pre-trip inspections and applicable maintenance on all solid waste equipment assigned and completing required paperwork.
May be utilized in the training of new employees.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related work as required.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years’ experience required.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
All employees must attend Seminole County required trainings. Department specific trainings per position may be required.
Performance Expectations
As a Solid Waste Operator II, it will be expected that you work in a safe and productive manner, assist the newer employees and make sure your peers are adhering to applicable policies and safety rules.
