What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landfill Hazardous Waste Technician position at Seminole County, FL?
Description
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Essential Functions

Identifies and segregates hazardous materials. Manages wastes and containers to ensure they are properly stored and labeled. Maintains the household hazardous waste collections including e-scraps (CPU’s/monitors/tv).
Maintains used oil igloos located throughout the county. Transports tires/propane tanks to the landfill location.
Assists in coordinating the shipment of hazardous waste, e-scrap, and other waste streams.
Secures facilities in preparation for natural disasters. Assists in surveying damage after such events.
Develops and maintains logs and files as needed to ensure compliance and accountability.
Gas Well Field Support:
Help gather data for the landfill gas collection system and assist in performing routine sampling events.
Help maintain the areas around the landfill gas collection system infrastructure.
Responsible for assisting the gas well field technicians with maintenance tasks of the gas collection system e.g. performing minor repairs, cleaning pumps, troubleshooting issues with the system, etc.
Additional Duties:
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Minimum Qualifications
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to understand and carry out directions.
Ability to plan work assignments.
Training with Hazardous materials. Hazardous training/Forklift operator/Safety training/Driving training/PPE training.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.
Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
