Responsibilities
This position is responsible for overseeing personnel involved in establishing, promoting, and maintaining security and property protection programs by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Reports directly to the Director of Security, assumes the operational and administrative responsibilities of the Security Director in their absence.
- In the absence of the Director of Security, will make notification of any and all pertinent incidents/events to the Corporate Senior Vice President of Security, his designee and the property President.
- Makes notification to the Director of Security any reports of significant incidents/events, violations of regulations, policies and/or procedures.
- Responsible for protection of Seminole Gaming Property assets.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Security Department.
- Initiate, conduct and assists in any internal or external investigations approved by the Director of Security, provide assistance and/or direct involvement upon request with investigations being conducted by Seminole Gaming Administration, Seminole Tribal Gaming Commission, Human Resources, Casino Management, and Seminole Police Department or authorized local authorities.
- Ensures the operation of a 24-hour, 7 day a week Security Operation to provide a timely response to routine and emergency situations.
- Provides physical security, traffic, and parking control for Seminole Gaming Property.
- Responsible for directing subordinates, completing and reviewing performance reviews.
- Responsible for reviewing and editing of incident reports prepared by subordinates for completeness and accuracy.
- Submits written reports of any breach of laws, regulations, policies and procedures to the Security Director.
- Interacts and assists Security Shift Manager/MOD and Seminole Gaming Property personnel as necessary to provide adequate security protection.
- Enforces policy and procedures, rules, and regulations and Gaming Compact requirements.
- Initiate all disciplinary actions on subordinates.
- Must be able to perform the duties of all Security positions.
- Ensures all employees are complying with regulations, ordinances, MICS, gaming compact, and company/departmental policies and procedures.
- Patrol the Casino premises to ensure the safety of customers and employees, and assists guests as needed.
- Responds to emergency incidents and takes action as necessary.
- Responds to internal security alarms and takes action as necessary.
- Provide for and/or schedule additional security as needed.
- Takes required enforcement action for violations of SGA Policies and standard procedures and if warranted, may call local authorities for assistance.
- Recruits, interviews and hires Security personnel as needed.
- Assists in training of department staff and developing and implementing standard operating procedure manual for department.
- Reviews all incident reports and provides statistical data to Director of Security.
- Prepares reports and correspondence as required.
- Ensures department's daily records are accurately maintained.
- Orders keys and maintains logs on key holders, radios, pagers and other inventory.
- Monitors safety systems for the property to ensure they are in proper working order and being used appropriately by staff.
- Ensures appropriate checks on vehicles and equipment are performed as required.
- Ensures assignments of staff are providing adequate coverage.
- Ensures department's daily records are accurately maintained.
- Maintains good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
- Cultivate excellent relationships with regulatory agencies and local law enforcement to ensure the sharing of information as well as their awareness, trust and support.
- Maintain excellent communication skills and interpersonal relations with guests, vendors, visitors and team members.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Work flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the operation i.e. nights, weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties as required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six (6) years of Security Management experience in a high volume casino/hotel complex environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience
- Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals
- Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance
- Must be able to communicate with guests and other employees in a positive manner.
- Must be able to effectively direct vehicular traffic in parking lots/garage and entrances/exits
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to forecast time management needs
- Must have industry or job-related knowledge
- Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting, but there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to wear a radio earphone without any medical limitations
- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time, able to climb steps, respond to emergency situations and handle basic duties and responsibilities of the position
- The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
