DESCRIPTION:
The Project Manager – Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program directs activities related to the development of the Medical Laboratory Technology Associate of Science Degree program including developing the program curriculum, prepares the program for initial accreditation candidacy, working with vendors to purchase lab equipment, collaborating with facilities on laboratory renovations, and marketing the program to high school and college students as well as the broader community, and monitoring grant deliverables.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops program curriculum that allows for dual enrollment opportunities, prepares program for accreditation standards, maximizes industry credential attainment, and creates a seamless transition into a bachelor’s degree program.
2. Implements scope of work as indicated in Capitalization Incentive Grant (CAP grant) proposal including scheduling and documenting project meetings and events.
3. Assists in monitoring budgets for remodeling and renovation projects.
4. Monitors the delivery and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment for the laboratory remodeling project.
5. Develops and implements strategies to market the program to high school students, college students, and the broader community through targeted outreach and collaborative events.
6. Monitors and reports on grant progress and implementation performance to determine appropriate action and ensure completion of grant(s) technical performance goals and deliverables.
7. Prepares reports to grant funder/sponsor in consultation with Grants Management and Finance departments.
8. Develops and maintains relationships with community stakeholders and industry partners.
9. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution, preferably in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a closely related field.
2. Three (3) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role.
3. National Certification (ASCP, AAB, or AMT) as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
4. One (1) year experience in managing projects in healthcare or laboratory settings.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution, preferably in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a closely related field.
2. Florida Generalist Technologist licensure or supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Understanding of dual enrollment, program development, accreditation requirements, and processes to align curriculum with industry credentials and degree pathways.
2. Ability to manage grant-funded projects and deadlines.
3. Current knowledge of grant compliance principles; ability to understand and interpret policy, procedures, and regulations as they relate to the grant.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead projects with multiple partners to achieve stated outcomes.
5. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Projects) and video conferencing applications.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
8. Excellent planning and organizing skills; ability to anticipate outcomes.
9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as critical thinking ability.
10. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
11. Committed to working in a multicultural environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Works inside in an office environment.
2. May require flexible work hours, including occasional evenings and weekends to support program needs.

The College anticipates that the position’s incumbent must be available throughout the workday and, on some occasions, after regular work hours. Therefore, as a condition of employment, the incumbent is expected to carry a personal cell phone and is required to provide their current cell phone number to the Office of Human Resources and to their immediate supervisor.

This position is not eligible for Veteran’s Preference.
