What are the responsibilities and job description for the Addictions Case Manager position at Seminole Tribe of Florida?
The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting and supporting Tribal Members experiencing drug abuse, alcoholism, mental health conditions, and psychiatric issues. The incumbent serves as a liaison between Tribal Members, treatment centers and related organizations that provide support to Tribal Members; and offers supportive services to the Clinical Supervisors and staff. Employees in this class perform duties with some autonomy; make independent judgments within established policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in the field of psychology, social work, or other related social sciences is required. Master’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working as substance abuse counselor, chemical dependency counselor or in the addictions recovery field; or experience with residential or outpatient programs, halfway houses, or related field is required. Substance Abuse Treatment Certification, Certification as Addiction Professional (CAP) or Certification as Addiction Specialist (CAS) in the State of Florida and knowledge of twelve-step recovery programs is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community based treatment. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays is a requirement of this position.
