The OR Tech is responsible for assisting the surgical team before, during and after surgery by ensuring the proper care, use and placement of surgical instruments, as well as, assisting surgeons with instruments during surgery.
Typical schedule for this staff member is 6:30am - 3:30pm with rotating late days.

Requirements
We are looking for someone who can:
- Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’ preference cards adhering to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure
- Count sponges, needles and instruments before and after operation
- Follow principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures
- Respond in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician
- Maintain and update instrument cards and surgeons’ preference cards; assists in storing and stocking supplies
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of surgical scrub technician course
- Two (2) years’ operating room experience including scrubbing neurological surgeries
- Experience with neurologic instrument care and processing, including biological and Bowie-Dick testing
