We are looking for someone who can:
- Prepare rooms, equipment and supplies for examination of patients; cleans and sterilizes instruments
- Interview patients, measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height), and records information in patient chart; reports abnormal values to nurse and/or provider
- Assist physician with instruments and materials during examinations
- Perform staple and suture removal and wound care using aseptic technique
- Give injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
- Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient, and provides compassionate care
- Helps coordinate patient referrals by scheduling outside appointments, tests and procedures
- Complete time-sensitive precertification's for tests and procedures
- Accurately key data into computer to maintain office and patient records
- Work collaboratively with nurse to facilitate efficient clinic workflow and to ensure quality patient care and physician satisfaction
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of Medical Assistant Program
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) designation
- BLS certification
Preferred:
- One (1) year experience in an outpatient/clinic environment
