Job Description:

Responsibilities

The CATS will build tactical and strategic network profiles for specific systems and complete network architecture. The CATS's full time duty location will be onsite at Shaw AFB, SC but travel may be required to countries within the CENTCOM Area of Operations.

Job duties:

• Utilize network intrusion devices and available cyber defense infrastructure, including but not limited to, Endpoint Security Systems, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Sytems (IDS/IPS), proxy security appliances, forensics tools, and other security agents to minimize threats to AFCENT Networks.
• Maintain the AFCENT Incident Response Procedure document and all associated processes and procedures.
• Assist with analyst training in advanced traffic analysis, incident response, and cyber hunt activities.
• Conduct threat emulation testing and develop and deploy advanced threat mitigation strategies in response to test results.
• Conduct thorough forensic investigations on security incidents, including data breaches and system compromises.
• Provide an overall site-analysis profile to serve as a benchmark to identify unusual or suspicious activity.
• Maintain current knowledge on existing and new malware behavior and propagation characteristics.
• Use vulnerability toolset to determine networks and systems security weaknesses and
• Utilize network intrusion and available cyber defense infrastructure, including but not limited to, Endpoint Security Systems, Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDS/IPS), proxy security appliances, forensics tools, and other security agents to minimize threats to AFCENT networks.

Qualifications

• B.S. in related field AND 5 or more years relevant Information Security experience; OR 7 or more years relevant Information Security experience AND Firewall experience.
• Network or CCNA and ITIL Foundations required.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
