Job Description:
The Entry Level Logistics Specialist serves as an expert in logistics management concerned with directing, developing, and performing logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating the execution of Integrated Product Support (IPS) for the organization. The Entry Level Logistics Specialist participates in the concepts, principles, and practices of IPS functions for most or all the logistics elements (i.e., maintenance planning: manpower and personnel; supply support: support and test equipment; training and training devices; technical data; computer resources support; and packaging, handling, storage, transportation, and facilities).
- Participate in the development and execution of product support strategies and product support packages that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating the execution of Integrated Product Support (IPS) for programs that include both hardware and software.
- Provides ILS/production support on acquisition logistics management activities to include development of acquisition logistics documentation, and evaluating the regulatory requirements to develop, field, and transition equipment/software
- Assist in the coordination, preparation, evaluation, and review of IPS management and planning documents assuring that tailoring, streamlining, and acquisition reform are considered and applied.
- Prepare documents used for preparation of basic life cycle funding and budgeting to support the acquisition of the system/equipment.
- Participate in the establishment of IPS requirements for acquisition documents and contracts.
- Executes the processes of planning, directing, managing, monitoring, and evaluating and correcting deficiencies in ILS throughout the research, development, and acquisition process.
- Supports the management and interface with logistics element managers, contract support services, training facilities, Integrated Logistics Support Management organizations and other service users at contractor facilities and government activities.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Registration Authority and Inventory Management Specialist should have a general knowledge of COMSEC policy/procedures, as well as a general understanding of operations as outlined in AR 380-40 and TB 380-41.
- Field Service Representative experience.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills.
- Skilled in MS Office Suite
- 2 years of relevant experience including the management of property, supplies, and materials tracking.
- Knowledge of Army supply/property management policies and procedures
Education / Certifications
- Associate’s Degree - An additional three years of relevant experience can be substituted for education
Typical Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain property records and perform property inventory and property management functions.
- Manage operations of a supply facility to include stock level maintenance, and logistics planning.
- Managing KMI COMSEC accounts including inventory and reconciliation of accounts and user training as required.
- Manage of training new supply/property management specialists and providing inputs to local property management policies/procedures.
