Duties and Responsibilities :
- Safely maintains, repairs, calibrates, troubleshoots, and tests electrical, instrumentation, and controls for power plant / solar / battery energy storage systems (BESS) / synchronous condensers, including Balance of Plant support systems / equipment, in accordance with applicable site and regulatory compliance procedures and requirements.
- Apply and remove mechanical grounds on high voltage conductors when qualified (Electrical specialty designation only).
- Implements plant improvements and modifications.
- Operates forklifts and aerial lifts as needed.
- Performs safety and equipment inspections, and environmental inspections as assigned by work order.
- Reports issues / abnormal conditions to supervision / management and recommends corrective action.
- Reads and interprets instrument, electrical, and control drawings to identify and troubleshoot problems and performs job preparation for maintenance and repairs.
- Safely handles and disposes of hazardous materials and waste generated by work in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provides and receives peer-to-peer on-the-job training related to instrument, controls, and electric maintenance tasks.
- Performs administrative duties and uses computer technology and work management systems to access work orders and input maintenance activities.
- Identifies parts needed for maintenance activities.
- Reviews and assists in developing policies and procedures.
- Coordinates, monitors, and inspects contractor work for quality, safety, and completion.
- Assists other plant personnel as needed.
- Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Performs vehicle maintenance.

This is a Union Represented position - Represented by Local IBEW 465.
