The Managing Attorney - Litigation provides leadership and strategic direction to lawyers or others in the law department on various complex litigation matters. Develops, coordinates, leads and administers the provision of complex legal services under the direction of the General Counsel and in conjunction with Directors of various practice areas. Provides effective leadership and direction in employee training and development and in communications with senior leadership.

The Managing Attorney - Litigation provides leadership and strategic direction to lawyers or others in the law department on various complex litigation matters. Develops, coordinates, leads and administers the provision of complex legal services under the direction of the General Counsel and in conjunction with Directors of various practice areas. Provides effective leadership and direction in employee training and development and in communications with senior leadership.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinates, implements and monitors legal services to facilitate and achieve company objectives.
- Primarily responsible for oversight on specific legal cases or material transactions.
- Provides legal services of a highly complex and/or sensitive nature to Corporate, Business Unit(s) or others in the law department.
- Supervises lawyers or others in the law department.
- Provide oversight and direction to direct reports while fostering opportunities for growth and development.
- Interacts with Corporate executives, Business Unit executives and upper management of other client groups.
- Leads team while promoting a productive work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Education
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- JD (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school is required.
- 8 years of relevant experience, including "first chair" of complex litigation or transactional matters is required.
- Experience in the energy industry is preferred.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
- We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.

- Admission to the California Bar, and a member in good standing is required.
