Primary Purpose
Provides comprehensive technical SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system guidance for multiple diverse systems, troubleshooting of system issue resolution under tight time pressure, support and monitoring to ensure safe, smooth, reliable and uninterrupted daily 24 hour, 7 days a week critical infrastructure operation for high pressure gas transmission pipelines and compressor station facilities operated by Southern California Gas and SDG E. Contributes to projects designed to enhance the SCADA system and operations at Gas Control.
Duties Responsibilities
- Independently troubleshoots SCADA system issues under tight timeframes, identifies root causes of incidents and problems for which solutions require creativity. Works and directs appropriate resources to minimize system downtime. Fully accountable for all aspects of resolution.
- Maintains, administers, and enhances a WAN environment comprised of servers and workstations throughout Southern California. Independently works with Gas Transmission field and staff technicians and engineers to complete and ensure proper installation and commissioning of telemetric measurement equipment. Provides system administration activities on Windows servers and workstations.
- Develops enhancements for and maintains an operational and control real-time database for automation and measurement, using telemetry devices, protocols and services. Ensures safe, smooth, reliable and uninterrupted daily 24 hour, 7 days a week critical infrastructure SCADA system operations for high pressure gas transmission pipelines and station facilities operated by Southern California Gas and SDG E. Designs and maintains Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for use by Gas Control operators
- Maintain backup SCADA system at remote location.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
