Semtech’s Wireless Product and Test Engineering team is a group of passionate and talented engineers tasked to industrialize cutting edge integrated circuits (IC) for high performance radio communications using Semtech’s patented LoRa technology, a de facto standard for Internet of Things (IoT) networks.
Job Summary
In this position the Product Engineer oversees our high performance integrated circuits for radio communications throughout their entire life, from definition, development, production to phase out.
He/she drives actions for transfer into production of new circuits. He/she ensures finished products adhere to required specifications and quality standards.
He/she follows up on production, drives technical analyses for resolution of production issues and customer returns.
He/she drives yield and cost improvement actions.
He/she interacts directly with design, test and application engineers as well as foundries, and test and assembly subcontractors.

Responsibilities
- (20%) Driving actions for transfer into production of new circuits, notably reliability qualifications and validation of production electrical test with the Test Engineer in charge
- (20%) During the development of the new product, working with the Design team to make sure the future product can be manufactured in safe conditions and at the required cost; this includes notably the completion of an FMEA
- (10%) Supporting the Design team by interfacing with foundries and departments in charge of assembly, test and failure analysis
- (30%) Following up the production of the circuits, analyzing and resolving non conformances and supervising actions needed for fixing issues popping up on production lines
- (10%) Performing continuous actions to improve the yield and the cost of products
- (10%) Staying current with the continuous evolution of technology, notably on foundry processes, assembly and test
- BSEE or MSEE, or evidence of continued education in the pursuit of attaining an MS degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineer in an electronics company
- Good understanding of digital and analog integrated circuits
- Experience as Product Engineer in semiconductor company
- Good knowledge of data statistical analysis
- Good understanding of RF integrated circuits
- Good knowledge of test hardware and equipment
- Experience in reliability qualifications
- Good knowledge of CMOS process
- Good knowledge of packaging technologies
- Good understanding of device failure mechanisms
- Good knowledge of physical and electrical failure analysis techniques
- Experience in automotive products
