The New York State Minority Conference is seeking applicants to fill the position of Policy Analyst who will work as part of a team in Albany on behalf of the Senate Minority Leader, Minority Senators, and relevant central and member staff.

- A bachelor’s degree (required), master’s degree or JD preferred
- Strong writing, research, and oratory skills
- Experience in a legislative, political, or governmental context is preferred
- The ability to work nights and weekends as needed

Duties Description
The essential functions of this dynamic role include:
- Providing regulatory, policy and budget analysis for the Senate Republican Conference
- Tracking committees and legislation active in the state Senate and state Assembly
- Conducting legislative and policy-related research
- Preparing materials and briefing Senators and staff on legislation, policy initiatives, and regulatory changes
- Assisting Senators and staff in preparation for public hearings, roundtable discussions, forums and other public meetings and events
- Working with Albany and statewide staff to assist Senators and staff in drafting and analyzing legislation and policy
- Meeting with and building relationships with, relevant statewide and national stakeholders, advocacy, and constituency groups
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Additional Comments
Salary range is $60,000 to $80,000, commensurate with educational and professional experience.
