PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To provide customer service and department cleaning duties. To contribute toward ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a positive working environment for employees.
NATURE AND SCOPE: Emphasis in this position is to clean and sanitize the Deli Department and to meet daily customer service needs. This position requires ongoing heavy lifting, standing, exposure to cold temperatures and wet surfaces, judgment/decision making, listening skills, and reading. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. The Deli Manager or person in charge provides assignments and work direction.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

Clean and sanitize equipment, cases, work area and sales floor
- Break down equipment according to procedures
- Continuously monitor area and sales floor for cleanliness
- Clean dishes, kitchen area, food equipment and utensils
- Keep dishwashing machine in clean, working order
- Utilize personal protective equipment as instructed

Assist with product handling
- Put away delivery loads
- Keep product organized

Assist customers with requests and information
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Assist with special orders
- Assist with product information and location
- Follow all store and department policies and procedures
