Seneca Caverns, located in Riverton, West Virginia, is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Cavern Tour Guide to join our team. As a Cavern Tour Guide, you will lead engaging and educational tours through one of the most stunning natural wonders in the region. You will provide visitors with an in-depth understanding of the cave's history, geology, and unique formations, ensuring an unforgettable experience. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, answering guest questions, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead guided tours through Seneca Caverns, explaining the history, geology, and natural beauty of the cave.
- Ensure visitor safety and maintain strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Share interesting facts and stories about the cavern, creating an engaging experience for all guests.
- Provide personalized attention to guests, answering questions and offering additional information.
- Assist with ticket sales and promote the cavern’s offerings and events.
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the cavern’s tour path and surrounding areas.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent guest service.
- Promote environmental awareness and conservation of the cave and surrounding areas.
Job Season:
- April - November
Schedule:
- Thursday - Monday (Tuesday/Wednesday Off)
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and educate diverse groups.
- Passion for history, geology, and natural wonders.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain.
- Previous tour guiding or public speaking experience preferred, but not required.
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
