Seneca County – IT Technician/Law Enforcement Support
Seneca County has an opportunity for a full-time IT Technician to provide first-line technical support and assistance for Seneca County employees, as well as Tiffin and Fostoria city employees, with a focus on law enforcement software systems. This position works in collaboration with our contracted IT service providers, who handle cybersecurity and advanced technical support. The role plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our technology infrastructure while ensuring secure and reliable access to essential law enforcement applications.
Required qualifications include an associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 1-2 years of experience in IT support or help desk environment. The essential duties and responsibilities of this role include:
· Provide first-line technical support via phone, email, and in-person
· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
· Support and maintain specialized law enforcement software applications
· Manage user accounts and access permissions
· Coordinate with contracted IT providers for advanced technical issues and cybersecurity matters
· Participate in technology deployment projects in coordination with contracted IT providers
· Other tasks as assigned.
This individual will report directly to the Seneca County Sheriff and split their time between the Sheriff’s Office/Seneca County Jail and the Police Departments in Fostoria and Tiffin:
· Seneca County, founded in 1824, has a population of 55,000 people. The County is located in Northwest Ohio and is home to many school districts, arts and cultural centers and headquarters for multi-national industrial and commercial firms, while maintaining a strong agricultural identity.
· The City of Fostoria, known for its glass heritage and railroads, is located between Hancock, Seneca, and Wood counties. The city is home to 13,000 residents.
· The City of Tiffin is the County Seat of Seneca County. Dubbed the Education Community because it is home to two private universities, Heidelberg University and Tiffin University, Tiffin shares its glass manufacturing heritage with Fostoria. Tiffin has nearly 18,000 residents.
Salary range for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 based on experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, vision, basic and voluntary life and supplemental insurance products. Training and education opportunities may be provided by employer. Position is subject to background check and drug screening, and candidates must maintain confidentiality and adhere to CJIS security policies.
