Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the billing process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies, and maintaining patient records. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures to facilitate efficient revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government payers.
• Review and verify patient information, including medical records and billing information.
• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 to ensure proper classification of diagnoses and procedures.
• Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes.
• Maintain organized records of all billing activities, including payments received and outstanding balances.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer requirements.
• Assist with medical collections as needed to ensure timely payment from patients and insurers.

Skills

• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology related to billing processes.
• Familiarity with Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) for accurate coding.
• Experience working in a medical office environment, understanding the workflow of healthcare operations.
• Strong understanding of medical records management practices.
• Expertise in medical coding standards, particularly ICD-10 and ICD-9.
• Ability to handle medical collections effectively while maintaining professionalism.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for resolving billing issues.
