Overview:

As a Bilingual Outpatient Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting youth and their families through culturally responsive and compassionate mental health services. You’ll provide individual and family therapy, lead child and family team meetings, and create a safe, empowering space where even the toughest challenges can be openly discussed and worked through. Your work will help guide families toward healing by offering tailored treatment that embraces each family’s unique strengths and cultural background. In this role, you’ll engage in comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, direct therapy, and case management, all while using a family systems, strength-based approach. As a key member of our team, you’ll strive to offer the best possible care, ensuring that each youth and family receives personalized support. Services will be delivered in a variety of settings, including clients’ homes, schools, and other locations that best suit their needs.

Our clinics provide Specialty Mental Health Services to children who are adopted, being raised by relative caregivers, or in the foster care system. Our therapeutic services focus on providing permanency for children, addressing the impact of adoption/foster care on a child and the family, and addressing the impact on children being raised by relative caregivers. We are staffed by master level therapists offering individual, family, and group therapy. Our program builds upon and enhances the strengths of children and families, accelerating their progress toward attaining stability, improving their relational skills, self-sufficiency, and long-term success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide child, family and/or group therapy utilizing culturally informed and best practice modalities.
  • Work in partnership with children, youth and families to determine their goals within therapy.
  • Promptly respond to referrals of children and adolescents who present with symptoms of psychiatric disorders.
  • Complete assessment and evaluation process of assigned clients including obtaining consents for all aspects of treatment, obtaining relevant documents and meeting/speaking with various adults or professionals involved in the client’s life to develop and implement the treatment plan.
  • On cases that indicate a medical necessity for treatment, implement a case specific treatment plan to provide mental health services including individual, family and group therapy in addition to case management, linkage and consultation with community resources including schools and other providers.
  • Maintain availability for crisis intervention services and complete incident reports in adherence to agency timeline.
  • Complete documentation in compliance with all requirements and timely reviews of all assigned cases.
  • Comply with all requirements of child abuse reporting, compliance, and confidentiality in accordance with standards set by Seneca Family of Agencies.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision.
  • Commit to and engage in self-evaluation as well as organizational goals, strategies, and systemic practices regarding diversity, equity and inclusion.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work/psychology/counseling.
    • Eligible to register with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience working with children in out-of-home care preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Good organizational and writing skills.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday - Friday
  • Typically 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
    • Some flexibility required to work at least two later evenings (10:00 AM - 6:30 PM)

  • Starting at $81,360 - $95,360 per year
    • Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
    • Additional $4000 salary increase for BBS licensure.
