What are the responsibilities and job description for the Empowering Educational Support Specialist position at Seneca Family of Agencies?
As a Classroom Counselor at Seneca Family of Agencies, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Collaborating closely with special education teachers, school therapists, and educational leaders, you will help create classrooms that cater to the therapeutic, behavioral, and academic needs of each student.
Salary: $27.58-$30.08 per hour (dependent on creditable experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Foster a stable classroom environment by assisting students in staying focused and engaged.
Utilize evidence-based behavioral and clinical techniques to address students' mental health requirements.
Promote a collaborative school environment by working with multidisciplinary teams to meet the diverse needs of students.
Encourage curiosity and creativity among students through shared skills and interests.
Participate in regular supervision sessions to enhance your skills and receive ongoing guidance.
Effectively communicate with all staff members and caregivers involved in students' daily lives.
Deliver crisis intervention using de-escalation techniques, including physical management strategies for clients.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Spanish-English bilingual skills are mandatory for this position.
Experience working with youth in a mental health or educational setting is highly desirable.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
A valid California Driver's License is required.
Candidates must undergo clearance for TB tests, fingerprints, and other necessary State/Federal licensing or certification requirements.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is also mandatory.
