JOB SUMMARY:
The Budget Administrator is the primary support for accurate monthly and annual financial projections, as well as annual and multi-year budget preparation. This Budget Coordinator collaborates with Seneca Gaming Entertainment department heads for all budgetary responsibilities relating to the budget cycle which is inclusive of budget formation/development, budget execution/monitoring, and assisting with fiscal year-end close-out activities. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of Seneca Gaming and Entertainment’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates and provides expertise for all accounts associated with budget development, implementation, execution and close-out phases of the budget process.
2. Collaborates with SNI Comptroller, SGE management, and department heads in formatting and developing the annual fiscal year budget.
3. Advises department heads in preparing and developing both short and long-term budget capital expense plans to accomplish goals, objectives and priorities.
4. Review and recommend new and/or changes to SGE budget policies and procedures relating to account use, monitoring, and controlling (encumbered) expenses.
5. Performs routine analysis on all SGE accounts with particular emphasis on maintaining and tracking operating expenses; Identifies discrepancies and recommends corrective action.
6. Ensures utilization of budget resources are utilized for purposes intended.
7. Provides detailed monthly budget reports to SGE department heads reflecting account status (i.e. Budget Allocations vs. Operating Expenses) and fund availability status for SGE accounts.
8. Performs research related to prior years and develops historical comparisons as necessary.
9. Provides technical assistance to department heads in reviewing and utilization of budget reports.
10. Performs monthly comparative analysis by line-item, of actual vs budgeted revenues and expenses.
11. Maintains necessary files and information for preparing reports and special assignments as requested.
12. Assists the Chief Financial Officer CFO, Chief Executive Officer CEO, and General Manager with the completion of budgets and financial reports.

19. Performs research related to prior years and develops historical comparisons as necessary.
20. Collaborates with other SGE Accounting and Finance staff in maintaining the Chart of Accounts for SGE.
21. Collaborates with HR staff on new hires, terminations, resignations, and transfers with regard to fund availability and/or changes affecting the budget.
22. Performs monthly comparative analysis by line-item, of actual vs budgeted revenues and expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field or Associate's Degree and two years of relevant work experience in Finance, Budget, or Accounting. An equivalent combination of related work experience, training and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
