JOB TITLE: Human Resources Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
Incumbent plans, directs, and coordinates the human resource functions of SGE. Oversees the recruiting, interviewing, and
hiring of new staff; employee relations; training; employment compensation; and communications. Consults with
management on strategic planning; and serves as a liaison between management and employees. Maintains strict
confidentiality of all personnel information in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and SN laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety programs.
2. Identify vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
3. Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages,
and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
4. Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and
administering disciplinary actions.
5. Advise management on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment,
and recommend needed changes.
6. Prepare and maintain operational/capital budget through economical utilization of personnel, material and
equipment.
7. Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law, Seneca Nation, and other
governing agencies.
8. Plans and controls feedback, reporting, and communication channels that encourage timely and effective
communication within and between departments in the decision and all other areas of SGE.
9. Plan and conduct new employee training to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
10. Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
11. Oversees the evaluation, classification and rating of job positions.
12. Responsible for preparing written and oral reports as directed.
13. Evaluates Human Resources staff performance and provides immediate feedback to improve productivity.
14. Responsible for accurately monitoring and documenting daily attendance records according to policies and
procedures.
15. Responsible for employee evaluations in a timely manner.
16. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management or related disciplines preferred, with 3-5 years supervisory and human resources experience. Leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and dedicated commitment to excellence. Must have previous experience in the preparation of budgets.
