Seneca Health Services is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center in wild, wonderful West Virginia. We provide responsible, accessible, and progressive behavioral health services. We have a wide range of professionals who are passionate about helping our clients through substance use or mental health treatment. With four outpatient clinics and two intensive treatment locations in Greenbrier, Nicholas, Pocahontas and Webster Counties, we serve a wide population. Our services include Crisis Services, Substance Use Disorder Assistance, Mental Health Services, and Intellectual Disabilities Support.

Wellness Coordinator develops and implements educational curriculum and plans on health issues and maintaining healthy habits, improving lifestyle choices, and achieving overall wellness goals, with a focus on prevention, self-care, behavior change, and stress management. Provides direct supervision of Wellness Coach. Utilizes leadership skills to foster positive staff engagement.


Current West Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse licensure required.  Experience in wellness and health education, or behavioral health preferred.

Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.  

Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Employment Fitness Determination through WVCARES and a drug screen.  

Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills required. 

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED


Must possess clear and effective communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills. Skilled in public speaking and engaging group discussions.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), video conferencing tools, multimedia integration, document creation and editing, web-based collaboration tools, and basic technical troubleshooting.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Recruit, interview, recommend for hire, provide orientation and training, administrative supervision, and evaluate performance of staff.
  1. Develop educational curriculum on a variety of health topics, including tobacco cessation, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, alcohol and drug use, exercise, stress management, healthy eating, etc.
  2. Coordinate with Registered Dietitian for meal planning and nutritional information.
  3. Educate and train Wellness Coaches in curriculum and plans for implementation and presentation.
  1. Ensure information is presented in both group and one-to-one setting - private and public presentations. 
  2. Create a supportive and interactive learning environment where participants can ask questions, share experiences, and build confidence.
  3. Ensure approved meal plans are used by Wellness Coaches to provide assistance with shopping and selecting quality, local produce or food stores that offer fresh, healthy options.
  4. Implement processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy; provide directives and training to ensure compliance.
  5. Ensure staff provide high-quality customer service and follow Seneca’s core values of responsible, accessible, and progressive and the Professional Standards of Seneca’s Code of Conduct & Ethical Practice.
  6. Represent Seneca in a positive manner including maintaining a positive attitude and performing duties in a manner in accordance with Seneca’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Practices.
  7. Assure quality service for clients by becoming knowledgeable of and adhering to rules, regulations, and legal requirements and by documenting services provided in accordance with established standards.
  8. Secure information by adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and Seneca privacy policies and keeping client information confidential.
  9. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
