Seneca Health Services is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center in wild, wonderful West Virginia. We provide responsible, accessible, and progressive behavioral health services. We have a wide range of professionals who are passionate about helping our clients through substance use or mental health treatment. With four outpatient clinics and two intensive treatment locations in Greenbrier, Nicholas, Pocahontas and Webster Counties, we serve a wide population. Our services include Crisis Services, Substance Use Disorder Assistance, Mental Health Services, and Intellectual Disabilities Support.

QRT Peer serves as a member of a treatment team and is responsible for coordination of care with community partners, providing a wide array of services for clients.  Responds to community settings to offer treatment, support, and harm reduction strategies to individuals who have recently had an overdose event.  Position can be based in Maxwelton or Summersville, WV.


HS Diploma or GED required. Direct, lived, personal experience with addiction and recovery; well established in recovery for a minimum of two years; and currently receiving no more than maintenance services within the last six months. Completion of Recovery Coach training curriculum and other required training.  Certified or eligible for Peer Recovery Support Specialist by the WV Board for Addiction and Prevention Professionals.  Two years’ experience in behavioral health and substance use disorders preferred.

Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.  Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Employment Fitness Determination through WVCARES and a drug screen.  

Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills required. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Implement face-to-face contact with individuals who have overdosed to establish positive rapport with the QRT and to better provide information concerning treatment and recovery options.
  2. Facilitate admissions into the program by taking referrals, completing initial assessments (as necessary), and maintaining a waiting list that ensures priority is given to injecting pregnant and injecting substance users (as applicable).
  3. Initiate interim services for individuals who must be placed on a waiting list.
  4. Help identify and resolve situational problems, changes in symptom acuity, and/or function.
  5. Engage the family of opioid overdoes survivors to increase the likelihood that they will establish and maintain long-term recovery.
  6. Provide supportive counseling, educational, and skill development services to clients.
  7. Develop and/or monitor the implementation of day and evening recovery-based activities, which appropriately address the clients’ identified life-skills-related treatment plan goals and objectives.
  8. Create and monitor individualized change/recovery plans for each person served.
  9. Maintain positive working relationships with the community and its resources.
  10. Maintain list of individuals currently participating in the program and track their movement throughout the levels of care.
  11. Provide after-hours and non-traditional hours of availability to meet the individual needs of those served.
  12. Assure quality service for clients by becoming knowledgeable of and adhering to rules, regulations, and legal requirements and by documenting services provided in accordance with established standards.
  13. Secure information by adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and Seneca privacy policies and keeping client information confidential.
  14. Represent Seneca in a positive manner including maintaining a positive attitude and performing duties in a manner in accordance with Seneca’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Practices.
  15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
