What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Seneca Landfill, Inc.?
Seneca Landfill, Inc. is seeking a heavy equipment operator.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate, in a safe, compliant manner, dozers, graders, excavators, front end loaders, and other equipment as required.
- Spread and compact residential, commercial, and construction and demolition waste disposed of at the landfill facility.
- Spread, compact, and cover refuse with cover material each day.
- Grade and maintain topography.
- Report equipment failures, malfunctions, and maintenance needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Employees must provide their own safety-approved work boots.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Ability to frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
- Ability to sit/stand, walk, climb, bend/twist, crouch/crawl, and push/pull required.
- Ability to lift/carry upwards of 50-100 lbs. for short distances.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.88 - $28.00 per hour
