What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biomedical Technician position at Seneca Resources?
Position Title: Biomedical Technician
Environment: On-site, Tomah, WI
Position Status: 6 month contract-to-hire
Pay rate: $30-32/hr.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect selected new medical equipment or devices and perform quality assurance check to assure that equipment conforms to manufacturer literature for components, parts, and performance.
- Install selected new medical equipment or devices in accordance with manufacturer’s literature, certification to perform installation actions, and/or biomedical engineering department authorization to perform installation.
- Operationalize new medical equipment or devices so that items perform designed functions in accordance with manufacturer’s literature.
- Inventory and determine asset location and availability in accordance with medical equipment and/or asset management records.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks in accordance with manufacturer’s literature and/or biomedical engineering department’s standard operating procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting of equipment or device malfunction to determine source or cause of defect or malfunction.
- Perform scheduled and/or unscheduled maintenance per certification for designated medical equipment or devices or biomedical engineering department’s authorization to perform maintenance and repair of designated equipment and devices.
Experience and Education:
- A two-year associate degree or higher in applied science or equivalent military training.
- A minimum of 2 years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance.
- Demonstrated competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on various types of medical equipment.
- Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards.
- Familiarity with the setup and application of test equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.
- Ability to achieve quick turnaround times on work orders.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
