Job Title: SME Consultant Sr. (Okta)

Location: Washington, DC/Remote

Long Term Contract

Overview of the Role:

The SME Consultant Sr. (Okta) position focuses on Identity and Access Management (IAM) tasks, with a specific emphasis on Okta, a leading identity platform. The consultant will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding IT teams in configuring, integrating, debugging, and deploying solutions requiring IAM. The role also involves optimization of existing IAM setups, applying DevSecOps principles to automate processes, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

The consultant will also be expected to provide detailed analysis and recommendations for system improvement, lead IAM-related initiatives, and supervise studies and data collection to resolve mission-critical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Okta Administration and Integration:

• Configure and maintain Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO) for applications.
• Integrate Active Directory, Azure AD, Radius Server, and other identity providers with Okta.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade Okta agents and manage related service accounts.

2.Technical Support:

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for troubleshooting and resolving access issues for Okta-integrated systems.
• Validate user, application, and role provisioning tasks manually through the Okta admin portal.

3.System Enhancements and Reporting:

• Assess monthly Okta production updates for system impact and implement necessary adjustments.
• Generate periodic and ad hoc reports from Okta for analysis and auditing purposes.

4.Security and Compliance:

• Conduct continuous monitoring and remediation of vulnerabilities identified in scan reports.
• Review user and administrator activities for compliance with security policies.

5.Documentation and Runbooks:

• Develop and maintain runbooks, operational guides, and documentation for projects and daily operations.
• Ensure accurate documentation of API contracts and integrations.

6.Splunk and ARIS Integration:

• Review and enhance the Splunk-Okta integration for logging and monitoring.
• Maintain and improve EAMS (Enterprise Access Management System) registration and access roles using ARIS.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in Okta:
• SSO, MFA, Okta agents, and integrations with systems like Azure AD and Active Directory.
• Strong background in IAM and related technologies.
• Familiarity with Splunk for monitoring and logging.
• Proficiency in analyzing and resolving unique user access issues.
• Experience in performing security vulnerability assessments and remediations.

Soft Skills:

• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills to optimize IAM systems.
• Collaborative mindset to work with IT and security teams.

Experience and Education:

• At least 10 years of professional experience in IT, focusing on IAM and Okta.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Clearance and Eligibility:

• U.S. citizenship or Green Card required.
• No significant travel outside the U.S. in the past five years (except military service).
• Ability to pass drug screening, criminal background check, and credit check.
