The position is located at our Houston office and may require some overnight travel to project sites.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and designs electric transmission lines.
- Analyzes existing transmission lines for conductor upgrades and communications cable additions.
- Research and studies new technologies, methods, and equipment
- Drafts, finalizes, approves, accumulates, and issues drawings, material lists, manuals and schedules for construction and revises transmission records to reflect as-built conditions
- Provides technical design support to Clients during construction process.
- Develops, approves, and maintains material specifications and construction standards.
- Develops design processes and procedures.
- Provides transmission project budget estimates, when appropriate
- Estimates quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- 0-2 years’ experience in Transmission design for the Energy industry
- Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional computer skills, with emphasis in project management, spreadsheet, and word processing applications.
- Strong skills of time managements, organization, and multi-tasking.
- This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
