Our practice only involves Virginia-based clients and claims that arose predominantly in Virginia residential and/or commercial landlord-tenant matters.
Our core law practice involves high-volume legal support for landlord-tenant clients all across Virginia. We use JST to handle our core files and manage workflow. We also use MS Office and Google Workspace extensively.
About the Positions:
Each position we offer requires self-starters who find enjoyment in our work's challenging nature and fulfillment in working within a small, tight-knit team.
Ideal candidates will have significant experience in a high-volume collections practice or collection agency, will be comfortable and confident with technology, be proactive and self-motivated, with strong organizational and time-management skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task, in order to ensure all duties and tasks are completed in a timely fashion with minimal supervision and 100% accuracy.
Duties for these positions include:
- Use JST as our primary collections software and leverage its features to document communications, generate reminders, prepare documents, improve workflow, and file tracking
- Create and draft legal documents for attorney review before filing with the courts
- Comfortably reading leases and contracts
- Collaborate professionally with the clients, courts, and/or debtors, as and when needed.
- Use MS Office products (e.g. Word, Excel) and Gmail with ease
- Make decisions and operate quickly and confidently within pre-authorized scenarios, yet know when and why other scenarios should be escalated for clarification and direction
- Be organized, neat, and accurate in every facet of your work
- Enter data from client reports and consistently work in an accurate and timely manner
- Notarize documents (or be willing/able to become a Notary Public)
To Be Considered:
Qualified candidates must have the following education, training, and/or experience:
- At least three (1) year of related experience in a high-volume Virginia-based collection agency or collection law firm
- Proficiency with JST, MS Office, and Google Workspace Applications
- Familiarity with and a strong working knowledge of FDCPA and other Collections rules and regulations
- Familiarity with VA General District Court procedures & filing requirements
