Experienced Alteration Fitter

Seng Couture is seeking individuals with strong foundations in creating custom garments, alterations, and customer service to join our Alterations Fitter Team to create and alter luxury wear bridal gowns and mother of the bride/groom garments for Seng Couture's vast clientele.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform customized alteration fittings for clients in their wedding gowns or evening wear luxury gowns
• Alter bridal gowns and evening wear gowns of various embellishment, such as lace, beading, embroidery work, and heavy beadwork
• Alter bridal gowns and evening gowns of various fabrics, such as silks, mikado, satin, tulle, charmeuse, lining, stretch knit, and illusion netting
• Perform all assigned projects in a timely manner
• Meet productivity standards
• Communicate supply needs to the Alterations Managers
• Ensure that the alterations studio, work areas, and all fitting areas are kept organized, clean and safe for all employees and customers
• Report machine or equipment repair needs
• Maintain neat work area in the fitting areas for clients and all designated areas for fitters, including the checkout space and alterations studio

Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience in performing alteration fittings
• 3 years altering bridal gowns and evening gowns
• Has experience working with various fabrics, such as lace, beading, embroidery work, and heavy beadwork, silks, mikado, satin, tulle, charmeuse, lining, stretch knit, and illusion netting
• Requirement: must. know how to use industrial sewing machines
• Speak and write in English; please inform us if you are bilingual
• Has reliable transportation
• Able to work on weekdays and weekends, on major federal holidays and overtime
• Responsible, punctual, and a team player
• Flexible to the needs of the company and clientele
• Has basic computer knowledge; additional training will be provided
• Proficient in garment construction techniques and sewing machine operation
• Strong knowledge of different types of fabrics and their properties
• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
