What does the job involve?

Summary: Assures the proper and efficient storage, receiving, issuance and recording of tools, fixtures, and equipment requisite to and associated with necessary production and operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

• Is directly responsible for the timely delivering of tools, fixtures, shop aids, etc., requested by production departments in a manner which will facilitate maintaining production schedules.
• Maintains tool control records to assure the proper location and disposition of tools. Entry and retrieval of data from computer tooling control system.
• Maintains tools in a manner that preserves their utility in the manner prescribed by existing procedures.
• Processes request(s) as required from supervisor of tool storage for inventories, surveys, scrap orders and any reports deemed to properly record conditions and/or disposition of tools.
• Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 2-5 years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills:

• Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply a general understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Other Abilities: Must possess a general knowledge of tooling, procedures, and requisite record keeping.

Equipment used:

• Shop lifts, forklifts, and general tool- handling equipment, computer, and company- supplied vehicle (Forklift).
