Position Summary

Perform a wide variety of customer service related duties including but not limited to providing information to transportation customers, scheduling reservations for the senior population, preparing daily manifest schedules and receiving feedback from customers.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

High school diploma or GED; and

Two (2) years of customer service experience.

Two-way radio operation experience preferred.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Public transit services and basic operations
  • Customer service and public relations techniques
  • Telephone etiquette and procedure
  • Basic local geography
  • Basic office procedures, methods and computer equipment
  • English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Basic mathematical principles
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping
  • Principle and procedures of complex filing systems
  • Principles of basic clerical accounting

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Exhibit customer service skills both in person and on the phone
  • Interpret transit routes, schedules, maps, and written materials
  • Perform general clerical work including maintaining files and compiling information for reports
  • Learn the geography of the local area
  • Maintain accurate and complete records
  • Set up complex filing systems
  • Correctly interpret and apply City policies and procedures
  • Operate office equipment including a computer, copy machine and adding machine
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Communicate clearly and concisely
  • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
