Looking for a full-time med tech on Morning shift (6am-2pm)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist and assure care and needs of the resident are met each shift.
Responsible for carrying out the program of the facility in the absence of Management.
Promptly respond and assist with resident needs.
Administer medications as ordered for each resident by the physician.
Verify identity of the residents by picture and name before administering the medication.
Supervise resident care to the care givers in accordance facility policies, procedures as well as rules, regulations, and
guidelines that govern the industry.
Instruct and assist care givers as needed in the care of the residents.
Report personnel to the Director of Resident Care when they are in violation of policies/procedures.
Complete Incident /Accident Reports, as necessary
Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift, as required.
Cooperate with other resident services and be certain that the resident’s total regimen of care is maintained.
Participate in surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physicians’ Order Form.
Chart notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the
resident’s response to care in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
Report all discrepancies noted concerning physician’s orders, diet change, charting error, etc., to the Director of Resident
Care.
Verify that narcotic records are accurate for your shift and notify the DRC of any discrepancy immediately.
Immediately notify the Director of Resident Care and attending physician of any medication administration errors.
Monitor seriously ill residents, as necessary.
Other special projects and duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Must have a certificate of completion of the written exam of Medication Aide.
Clinical training completed and signed off by an RN within 60 days of hire.
20 hours of dementia training
Must have a current/active CPR certification.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills as well as proper phone etiquette.

Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Word and Internet.
Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPPA guidelines and regulations.
Acknowledge and maintain Resident Rights of the residents and proactively acts as a resident advocate.
Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company
objectives.
Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative.
Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures.
Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Moderate physical activity:
Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push,
pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet.
Standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Bending and/or stooping for more than one (1) hour at a time.
Sitting for more than one (1) hour at a time.
Requires writing and/or computer work with repetitive typing and concentrating on computer screen and/or documents
for more than two (2) hours at a time.
