Looking for 1st Shift Medical Technician Part time (6am to 2 pm).
```Duties```
- Perform medical procedures under the supervision of a healthcare professional
- Assist with physical examinations and collect patient data
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Provide catheter care and assist with other medical procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Supervise resident care to the care givers in accordance facility policies, procedures as well as rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the industry.
- Provide memory care support for patients with cognitive impairments
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients
Responsible for carrying out the program of the facility in the absence of Management.
Verify identity of the residents by picture and name before administering the medication.
Instruct and assist care givers as needed in the care of the residents.
Report personnel to the Management when they are in violation of policies/procedures .
Complete Incident /Accident Reports, as necessary
Chart notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to care in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
Verify that narcotic records are accurate for your shift and notify the DRC of any discrepancy immediately.
```Job Requirements:```
Must have a certificate of completion of the written exam of Medication Aide.
Clinical training completed and signed off by an RN within 60 days of hire.
20 hours of dementia training
Must have a current/active CPR certification.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills as well as proper phone etiquette.
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Word and Internet.
Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPPA guidelines and regulations.
Acknowledge and maintain Resident Rights of the residents and proactively acts as a resident advocate.
Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative.
Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures.
Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
```Physical and Sensory Requirements:```
Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet.
Requires writing and/or computer work with repetitive typing and concentrating on computer screen and/or documents for more than two (2) hours at a time.
```Skills```
- Proficiency in using Cerner or similar electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology
- Experience in medication administration and dosage calculations
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and documentation
- Ability to provide care in assisted living or memory care settings
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy rights
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
