We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing companionship and engaging clients in social activities to promote social skills.
- Assisting individuals with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Supporting clients in meal preparation and ensuring proper nutrition.
- Take participants on outings, such as field trips to the zoo, park, or restaurant
- Monitoring vital signs and observing patients for any changes in condition.
- Implementing individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Assisting with mobility and lifting clients as necessary, ensuring safety during transfers.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Documenting daily activities and progress in client care logs.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or in social work settings.
- Knowledge of CPR and First Aid procedures.
- Strong caregiving abilities with a focus on empathy and patience.
- Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and performing patient observation tasks.
- Capability to lift heavy objects or assist clients with heavy lifting as needed.
- Skills in meal preparation that cater to dietary restrictions or preferences.
