Caregiver Support Therapist - LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT
People Helping People has been the foundation of Senior Friendship Centers for over 50 years, and we’re growing! We are looking for a dynamic Caregiver Support Therapist!
The applicant can have any of the following licenses: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Get in on the ground floor with this brand new and exciting position! The Caregiver Support Therapist will conduct a high level of outreach and expert guidance, creating a gentle entry point for hard-to-reach families to learn about and access available caregiver resources. The position will provide individual counseling, home visits, and phone consultations to offer caregivers multiple avenues for assistance. Responsibilities include the development of caregiver resources, fostering community relationships and promoting the Adult Day Services (ADS) program in both the Sarasota and Venice locations.

Older adults throughout four counties in Southwest Florida rely on Senior Friendship Centers for help with nutrition, adult day services, social engagement, education, help in times of crisis, and so much more. Operational
- Provides counseling and direct support services to caregivers via office appointments, home visits or over the phone.
- Responds to inquiries made to CRC. Provides caregivers with assistance and information regarding CRC activities, supporting organizations, and other community resources.
- Develops and implements programmatic and administrative policies and procedures to attain program objectives and goals.
- Oversees quality assurance in the program’s service delivery including clinical care and documentation as required to meet standards and licensing requirements.
- Maintains documentation and data entry according to program guidelines.
- Assists with program sustainability through budget preparation and monitoring, the development of new programs, and grant management.
- Participates in targeted outreach activities and community events to support the ADS and CRC programs and the organization’s mission.
Organizational:
- Attend staff meetings, training, and seminars as required.
- Report any incident of abuse or neglect as mandated by state guidelines.
- Must comply with HIPAA regulations and OSHA laws and safety guidelines.
- Must comply with all Senior Friendship Centers personnel policies.
- Must protect the safety and health of staff, volunteers, participants, and others by observing and following the organization’s safety and incident policies.

Work Environment:
- Work environment may vary between locations and include stairs, office space adaptation when traveling, and a moderate noise level.

Qualifications
Competencies:

Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications:
- Master’s degree in social work.
- Actively licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
- At least two years of professional experience in the human services field.
- Clinical experience in crisis intervention, gerontology, and/or related human services field required.
- Experience providing caregiving services and/or caregiver resources.
- Experience with memory disorders is preferred.
- Familiarity with community support systems, resources and educational opportunities within the Sarasota and Venice communities.
- Intermediate computer skills are required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to quickly learn new computer software.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
- Must be able to independently access various departments of a given location.
Travel:
- Travel to both Sarasota and Venice locations will be required.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required for all work related travel.
Additional eligibility requirements:
- Satisfactory clearance of a fingerprint, level II background screening, tuberculous test, and preemployment substance abuse testing is required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
