Job Overview :
The Senior Living Executive Director is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and operation of a senior living community, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care and services to residents. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to collaborate with staff, residents, families, and the community, and a deep commitment to maintaining a high standard of quality and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Management :
Lead, coach, and develop a team of department managers and staff.
- Ensure the community operates with a resident-centered focus and promotes a positive, welcoming environment.
- Maintain effective communication channels between staff, residents, families, and visitors.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and retention of staff, ensuring that all employees are well-equipped to provide excellent care and services.
Resident Care & Satisfaction :
Ensure that all resident care plans are developed, implemented, and monitored to meet the individual needs of each resident.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality services in all areas, including healthcare, dining, housekeeping, and recreational programs.Address resident concerns and feedback promptly and effectively.Foster an environment that encourages resident engagement and quality of life.Compliance & Regulatory Oversight :
Ensure the community operates in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including licensing, health, safety, and fire standards.
Lead and prepare for regular inspections and audits by regulatory agencies, ensuring all required documents and processes are up to date.Implement and enforce policies and procedures that promote safety, ethical practices, and compliance.Financial Management :
Develop and manage the community's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability.
Monitor revenue, expenses, and cost-control measures to achieve budget goals.Oversee billing processes and resident contracts to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiencies and enhance financial performance.Marketing & Community Relations :
Oversee the community's marketing and outreach efforts to build awareness and drive occupancy.
Develop and maintain relationships with local healthcare providers, referral agencies, and community organizations to promote the facility.Represent the community in local events, forums, and meetings, enhancing the community’s reputation.Quality Improvement :
Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and resident satisfaction.
Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to improve service quality.Collaborate with department heads to ensure consistent improvement in all areas of the facility.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field is preferred.Experience : At least 4-6 years of senior living or healthcare management experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role such as Executive Director, Administrator, or similar.Licensure / Certification : Valid state licensure (if required by the state), or ability to obtain licensure within the required time frame.Skills & Competencies :Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.In-depth knowledge of senior care regulations, healthcare laws, and industry standards.Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and cost management.Ability to build and maintain relationships with residents, families, staff, and the broader community.Problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.Physical Requirements :
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively.Work Environment :
