The Cypress is recruiting for a hospitality focused Cook to join our Health Center Culinary team! The full-time shift is 12 - 8pm and may include holidays and weekends. The health center Cook is responsible for full-scope, hands on production cooking while maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times. Perks with this position include a $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS, no late night's - we're finished by 8pm, uniforms supplied at no cost, earn time and a half on designated Cypress holidays, and more!

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Cook

• Ability to work all stations in the kitchen.
• Efficiently runs assigned station during the shift, follow all specs, and stock food as needed.
• Maintains the quality of food and plate presentation.
• Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
  
  

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have

• SERVSafe Certification preferred.
• Experience in hospital or senior living preferred.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions.
• A minimum of three years' experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
• Schedule will be discussed but must be available mornings and afternoons/early evenings on week days and weekends.
  
  

Pay Range $18.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience. Plus a $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS!
