Parkwood Healthcare is recruiting for a hospitality focused Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) . This role is a member of the care team who provides rehabilitation care to the clients as requested by the client and, when required, as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and the policies of the community.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a COTA
- Provides or makes provision for client care in compliance with the American Occupational Therapy Association, supervising PT, physicians' orders, and Clinical Pathways as they become available.
- Ensures quality and safe delivery of therapy services to clients and training for families/caregivers.
- Assesses client's status by reviewing and implementing the plan of care set forth by the supervising PT.
- Initiates and applies appropriate preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures and techniques and maintains communication regarding client care with the physician and supervisory personnel.
- Is a graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Is registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Has at least two years of appropriate experience as an occupational therapy assistant. SNF/home care experience is preferred.
