Marquette, an upscale senior living community is seeking a trustworthy individual who will be responsible for ensuring that the community grounds are well-maintained and look presentable every day. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to customer service.
Job Duties
Assures that the grounds are well groomed. Regularly treat for weed control, rake leaves, plant flower/shrubs, spread mulch/wood chips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut down and remove tree limbs when necessary, perform lawn care services as needed.
Works primarily outdoors; moderate to heavy physical effort required; exposure to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); must be able to lift 80 pounds frequently; must be able to walk, stoop, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time (up to 90% of the work day). Exposure to chemicals related to maintenance of lawns and shrubs; must be able to set up and climb ladders safely with tools and equipment necessary for assigned work.

- Pick up trash, debris and hazards from common areas and parking lots on a daily basis.
- Assures that walkways are clean and clear of hazards on a daily basis.
- Trims, prunes and shapes various trees, bushes, shrubs and plants, as directed by supervisor.
- Responsible for snow removal efforts during the winter months.
- Inspect and maintain outside irrigation water lines and equipment to ensure it is working properly.
- Safely operate vehicles for the purpose of performing job duties.
- Maintains the appearance of outdoor signs, parking lot lines, center road lines and direction of travel indicators.
- Maintains all tractors, mowers, snow blowers and other outdoor vehicles and equipment in good working order.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general grounds maintenance techniques, such a perennial gardens and pruning.
- Prior snow removal experience, including operating a snow plow.
- Possess mechanical skills to perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment & commercial machinery.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to present oneself with professionalism and provide exceptional customer service
- Able to work unsupervised when needed and work well with others.
- Able to pass a detailed background check with no criminal history and a drug screen.
