MDS Coordinator(RN)

Galleria Woods, a premier retirement community, is recruiting for Extraordinary full time day MDS Coordinator (RN). This is a great opportunity to utilize your MDS skills in a small low acuity 30 bed Skilled Nursing Unit with low resident turnover. • Full Time 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday
• Pay Rate: $72,800-$76,960 based on experience
• Retention Bonus $5000.00
  
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• RN currently licensed by the State of Alabama. Will consider an LPN.
• Experience in an MDS role.
• At least 6 months nursing experience. Geriatric involvement preferable.
  
  

Your responsibilities

• Coordinates, conducts, and completes the MDS, resident care plans and conferences on the computerized system.
• Assures accuracy and completeness of entire medical record.
• Assures and monitors that MDSs are completed within HCFA and Medicare guidelines.
• Ensures MDS electronic submission occurs per State regulations.
• Participates in family/resident care plan conferences.
• Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to medical record documentation.
• Serves as a staff nurse when staffing levels necessitate in order to meet the needs of the residents.
• Responds to emergency calls as necessary.
• Assures timeliness of physicians visits.
• Notifies physician and family of changes in residents condition.
• Encourages rehabilitative techniques in order to restore residents independence.
• Assists DON in developing and implementing medical records policies and procedures.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
