What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Ombudsman position at Senior Services Plus?
Job Description
- Advocate for the rights of residents in long-term care facilities in Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair, and Washington Counties at the resident’s direction to investigate and resolve resident complaints.
- Maintain a regular presence in assigned long-term care facilities through routine visits to facilities and attendance at monthly resident council meetings.
- Provide in-service training to long-term care facility staff to educate on resident rights and the Ombudsman program.
- Attend community events to promote and educate the community on the Ombudsman program and services provided by the Ombudsman program.
- Maintain cases and document activities into the PeerPlace database in accordance with the deadlines and requirements from the State Ombudsman program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience working with older adults
- Prior work in advocacy, aging, social services, health care or related field
- Highly modivated, caring, compassionate person with excellent communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.72 per hour
