PURPOSE: Develop and implement a dynamic program of interest and meaning for our residents to enhance their lives and create an atmosphere for celebrating life. Manages and supervises the Engaged in Life Program staff, volunteers, and drivers (when applicable).

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or at least 2 years of related experience and/or training.

· Able to clearly present information through the spoken work. Can accurately communicate providing the necessary level of details.

· Ensures a positive attitude and team spirt even under stressful or demanding conditions in all verbal and non-verbal communication and actions.

· Solid performance management skills, including the ability to communicate performance expectations, document performance conversations, coach and document performance issues and complete performance management expectations.

· Demonstrates the ability to use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions designed to achieve the expectation and goals of community.

· Able to operate standard office equipment.

· Ability to effectively utilize technology including use of computers, IPAD/Tablet use, word programming, internet access, email, and social media.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Resident Rights

· Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.

· Ensure that you treat all residents fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect

· Ensure that all nursing is provided in privacy

· Knock before entering the resident’s room

· Report all grievances and complaints made by the resident to the Nurse Supervisor and Administrator

· Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident’s property immediately to the Nurse Supervisor and Administrator

· Honor the resident’s refusal of treatments request. Report such requests to your supervisor

· Communicate respectfully and appropriately, respect culture differences among residents and staff

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

· Manages William Penn’s Getting to Know You survey took the month opportunities calendar and move in actions related to Engaged in Life for each resident.

· Researches, evaluates, approves, develops, and modifies the monthly community events and programs according to the residents’ interests and reflecting a holistic approach to engagement.

· Prepares, post and promotes an engaging and creative monthly program calendar with incorporates William Penns events and programs by the first of each month.

· Manages all aspects of the Engaged in Life program while emphasizing the creation of a sense of purpose for each resident.

· Ensures that the residents are actively engaged in events within the greater community to allow them the satisfaction of “giving back to others”.

· Promotes the use of each resident’s unique life story and history in creating meaningful programming.

· Engages and motivated residents resulting in program participation.

· Contributes to William Penns community census by participating in sales events and marketing strategies.

· Manages departmental needs and goals within department budgets.

· Recruits, researches, and approves schedules and supervises program leaders, general contracted entertainers, volunteers, religious professionals, and vendors.

· Responsibly manages and supervises all Programming personnel (and Transportation personnel when available) including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring and corrective action consistent with William Penn Policy.

· Serves as the community’s “manager-on-duty on a regular basis.

· Recruits, trains, and manages volunteers when applicable.

· Must be able to think creatively and independently to meet program objectives.

· Able to innovate to create and generate solutions and meaningful programs.

· Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting sound judgement and a realistic understanding of the issues.

· Able to use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

· Able to define realistic, specific goals and objectives.

· Able to define task and deliverables necessary to meet goals.

· Can assign resources and set priorities to meet goals.

· Able to research and identify varied possibilities to aid in reaching decisions necessary to meet goals.

· Must possess strong interpersonal skill enabling effective communication with residents, families, and other department directors.

· Must be an effective advocate for each resident in fulfilling their goals and increasing their sense of happiness and accomplishment.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

· Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and the team concept

· Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public

· Must be able to follow written and oral instructions

· Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of their individuals in the workplace

· Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday

· Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with other

· Must be willing to perform tasks that may involve exposure to the blood and/or body fluids

· Must be willing to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations

· Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

· Must perform all additional tasks assigned to you by supervisor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
