Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations to determine mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments, ensuring safe medication administration practices.
- Provide health coaching and education to patients and their families regarding mental health issues and treatment options.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and enhance patient outcomes.
- Engage in memory care practices for patients with cognitive impairments, ensuring appropriate support is provided.
- Perform laboratory tests as needed and interpret results in conjunction with treatment plans.
- Utilize medical imaging when necessary to support diagnosis and treatment decisions.
- Phlebotomize patients as required for laboratory testing or other medical needs.
- Respond effectively in emergency medicine situations, providing immediate care as necessary.
Experience
- A Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing is required.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is essential.
- Previous experience in psychiatric settings or mental health facilities is preferred.
- Proficiency in patient assessment techniques and familiarity with medical-surgical systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds are essential for success in this role.
