. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Work with & direct the banquet team in completing the assigned functions and set-up, as well as oversee the service and break-down functions safely and accident-freely.
- Check room setup to ensure that BEO directions are thoroughly followed. Ensure that all public areas are neat and clean.
- Contact group representatives. Explain how to make contact, if needed, throughout the function.
- Ensure that all food and beverage items are presented and served correctly, adhering to the standards set out by the property and noting any special requests and instructions outlined in the banquet event order.
- Ensure that communication is constantly maintained between the Culinary Department Representative and the Banquet Team during the event. Alert team members of any changes in the service schedule, challenges, or adverse comments that may arise during the service of an event.
- Compile the check from the Banquet Event Order at the end of the event or function, ensuring that the correct number of items/persons are charged for and that the check is posted to the proper master account. Present the check to the clients for signature.
- Ensure all relevant and applicable paperwork is filled out correctly, including the consumption Sheets and Captain Report, and copies are distributed as required.
- Ensure that staff members return all equipment to the storage areas and leave the room/area clean and tidy. Unconsumed Liquor and wines should be returned to the Banquet Beverage Service Bar.
- Compile the station register, assign duties to banquet staff, and support the banquet assigned to that specific event or function.
- Ensure that the name of every staff member assigned to an event or function appears on the banquet sign-in sheet and that the staff signs the sheet before leaving the event or function.
- Prepare the area or room in its entirety for a function or event prior to the guest's arrival.
- Recap all banquet checks at the end of the day and turn them into Night Audit.
- Basic administrative duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by Supervisors/Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in banquet operations at an upscale hotel
- One-year experience as a Banquet lead/supervisor/captain
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in computer & POS skills.
