Production Technician

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Job Overview
We are searching for an innovative production technician to join our team and ensure quality products are delivered on time. The production technician's responsibilities include implementing processes, performing various tests on products, writing reports, diagnosing and resolving problems with products, methods, and equipment, and providing training and general support to the production and engineering teams.

To be a successful production technician, you should display great attention to detail and a sound understanding of what makes a good product. Top-notch candidates can identify problems in a product and make clear recommendations to workers on the assembly line.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee technical/electronic components that must be produced in production.
• Perform equipment setup, operation, equipment adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency; establish preventative maintenance methods.
• Run tests on assemblies and equipment to ensure safety and productivity before they are put into production.
• Identify concerns, and potential solutions, and attempt to troubleshoot the issue using technical knowledge.
• Notify management of concerns to keep production active, accurate, and efficient.
• Ensure the required materials are available for production, and that the warehouse is safe for all workers.
• Work with the quality assurance and mechanical engineering team to maintain quality standards by inspecting and testing finished products to ensure they conform to specifications.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs for new and existing workers in a production environment as needed.
• Work with different departments to identify training needs and objectives, develop curricula and materials, and schedule and conduct training sessions.
• Provide feedback and coaching, and update and revise training as needed.
• Develop instructions for field installation or field application of a Sennco product.
• Assist with technical troubleshooting in the field, if necessary.
• Some travel is required.
• Additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong technical skills and knowledge of the production processes, equipment, and standards.
• Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to different learning styles, motivate and engage learners, and solve problems creatively.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to read and carefully follow instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skillset is strongly preferred.

Education and Experience

• 2 years of relevant work experience in a production environment is strongly preferred.
• A degree or certification in a related field such as industrial engineering or manufacturing technology is strongly preferred.
• Experience applying Lean 5S methodology within a production environment.
• Experience implementing and monitoring safety according to standards.
• Forklift experience and certification are preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Good motor skills and ability to do fine assembly.
• Ability to check for defects and identify and distinguish between colors.
• Frequent grasping, reaching, standing, with occasional climbing, crouching, and sitting.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking around the warehouse.
• Must be able to sustain humid hot weather on occasion.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds regularly and 30 pounds occasionally.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.44 - $31.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
