Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall quality and compliance of our products and services. This position is responsible for implementing and managing ISO 9001 certification, shop floor quality programs, overseeing incoming inspections, conducting internal audits, and resolving in-field quality issues. The role also involves monitoring performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and tracking non-conformance costs.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and a passion for continuous improvement in quality assurance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing quality systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and develop action plans to address issues.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and areas of concern, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality control records.
Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Conduct training sessions to educate employees on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
Investigate and resolve customer complaints and non-conformances, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions utilizing root cause analysis (RCA).
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, promoting quality awareness and encouraging employee involvement in quality initiatives.
Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements in quality assurance, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance.
Resolve in-field quality issues effectively.
Oversee gauge and fixture tracking and calibration programs.
Support process control documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor and report metrics, tracking project status and findings for plant KPIs.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, quality inspection, or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Required Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001 or similar standards).
Experience in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with ERP systems and general business terminology.
Understanding and implementation of Lean Enterprise, 5S, and PDCA.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience conducting audits, inspections, and implementing corrective actions.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Preferred: Certification in quality management, such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
Desirable: Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma or Lean).
