Job Summary
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing all resources within the assigned Value Stream to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to set priorities, ensure on-time deliveries (OTD), and maintain quality standards.
The Value Stream Leader must be capable of performing and training employees in all roles within the department. They actively participate in cross-training, seek employee input to identify production constraints, set achievable goals, and take accountability for implementing necessary improvements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead Value Stream operations to achieve productivity, delivery, quality, safety, and budget goals.
Align and track all production employees to 5S, OTD, and labor productivity targets.
Ensure proper training and cross-training of employees to maintain operational efficiency.
Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and manage performance while addressing employee concerns and resolving issues.
Enforce company policies fairly and consistently, escalating unresolved matters to management or HR.
Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and implement Operational Excellence tools.
Establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing to meet customer specifications, quality standards, and on-time delivery.
Identify production constraints, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Monitor product quality standards, participate in audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality requirements.
Review production paperwork to verify order accuracy and schedule adherence.
Accurately prepare and process payroll, attendance, performance appraisals, and corrective actions.
Complete shift reports, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
Investigate workplace injuries and collaborate with safety personnel to implement preventive measures.
Utilize shop floor computer systems to track productivity and efficiency.
Plan and organize work efficiently, setting appropriate deadlines and checkpoints.
Coordinate shift activities to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
Clearly communicate policies, procedures, and production updates to employees.
Ensure smooth shift transitions by accurately documenting and relaying essential information.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce EHS policies and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
Promptly report and address safety concerns, reinforcing best practices for ergonomics, PPE usage, and equipment handling.
Ensure strict adherence to fall protection procedures, including the use of harnesses, ladders, and lifts.
Attend EHS training and actively contribute to improving workplace safety.

Experience & Education
Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment in progressive roles, with at least three years in a leadership capacity.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 6S principles.
Proven history of improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with intermediate to advanced computer skills in email and internet applications.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Infor Syteline preferred) and inventory flow/control.
Mathematical proficiency, including decimals, fractions, and metric system conversions.
Experience with measurement instruments and Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a plus.
Soft Skills & Leadership Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and technical manuals.
Effective team-building and conflict-resolution skills to maintain a positive work environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to align priorities and drive results.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and execute detailed written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
